Hi. We're building a bug and issue tracker and you can watch.

A Lid and a Shelf

It's a side table, but when opened, the top still serves as a shelf so that you don't lose the horizontal table space. Most tables would just have a top that opens. This table on the other hand, not only provides a larger opening for easier access, but it maintains it's usefulness regardless of whether it's open or closed.

Pulling a bottle or glass out through that half-a-whole looks like a recipe for trouble to me, especially avoiding knocking the glass as well. It also uses more horizontal space which you might not have.

Wouldn't a better solution be to have a sliding side, either in a breadbin / folding garage style slat system, or just some sort of compressing sliding door? At least then you maintain the same horizontal space whilst making the contents easier to access.

We built a simple bug and issue tracker named Sifter and we blog about it when we're not working on it. We think it’s a great way to get feedback and keep everyone updated on our status.
